Colgate & Marriott saving water together

Colgate and the Marriott hotel chained partnered to create an innovative multi-media effort to communicate a powerful message about saving water.   This initiative was called “Water Saver” and the objective was to inspire hotel guests to close the tap while brushing their teeth.

To make this possible, stickers were placed on the bottom of bathroom’s sinks in rooms of the hotel Marriot in Sao Paulo and Recife. These stickers featured a kid in need of water with the message: “The water you waste is the water they need.”

Brazil is currently going through its worst water drought in the last 80 years, for which Colgate and Marriot decided to help out. Through this campaign, they encouraged guests to change their water consumption habits and start saving nearly 5 gallons of water each time they brush their teeth.

This initiative took effect on World Water Day celebrated on March 22nd and it was a part of the global campaign “Every Drop of Water Counts” – in which Colgate informs the world how easy it is to start saving water.
